Professional e-commerce development

Your online shop. Open 24/7, no shop assistants.

E-commerce development with WooCommerce and Shopify. Catalogue, frictionless checkout, multiple payment methods and shipping. Online shops that actually sell, from Perugia to all of Italy.

From € 750 · WooCommerce or Shopify

// In short

I build online stores on Shopify and WooCommerce for businesses and professionals, from Perugia, Italy: catalogue, optimised checkout, Stripe and PayPal payments, shipping and product SEO. A store with up to 50 products starts at €750, with one month of post-launch support included.

80% of carts get abandoned.

That's the global average. A checkout that's too long, a slow mobile site, lack of trust, shipping costs that show up late: these are the real reasons people leave without buying. A professional e-commerce is designed to remove these brakes, one by one.

Professional e-commerce development

Where are you starting from?

/ SCENARIO 01

I have a physical business and want to sell online

You have a shop, a workshop or a physical brand and want to open a digital channel. You can sell at night too, even to people miles away. You don't have to choose between physical and digital: they integrate and strengthen each other. We start from the catalogue and the shipping process you already know.

/ SCENARIO 02

My shop exists but doesn't sell enough

You already have a shop, but the conversion rate is low, people abandon their carts or order management is a mess. The problem is almost never the product: it's a checkout that's too long, a slow mobile site, or a lack of visual trust. We intervene surgically without rebuilding everything.

/ SCENARIO 03

I sell on Amazon or marketplaces and want independence

Marketplaces give visibility, but they take hefty commissions (from 6 to 45%) and don't let you build a direct relationship with your customers. Having your own shop means higher margins, buyer data and the freedom to run promotions without asking anyone's permission.

/ SCENARIO 04

I'm launching a brand and want to start right

You're building something new — a brand, a product line, a creative project. The digital image matters as much as the product itself. Starting with a professional, fast shop that's consistent with the brand saves years of patching and conveys credibility from the very first order.

What a complete online shop includes

A complete e-commerce, not pieced together.

Every component of a shop that converts is included by default. No hidden add-ons discovered only after launch.

Advanced product catalogue

Variants (size, colour, material), multi-angle photo galleries, SEO-optimised descriptions, spec sheets and related products. Every product presented to persuade, not just listed.

Frictionless checkout

Checkout is where most customers are lost. I design it in 2–3 steps max, with guest checkout, autofill enabled and a progress indicator. Every extra field is a lost customer.

Multiple, secure payments

Stripe, PayPal, credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA and bank transfer — I integrate whatever your market needs. SSL connection, PCI-compliant, never touching card data.

Inventory and stock management

Real-time inventory, low-stock alerts, automatic order blocking when a product sells out. You can manage everything from the admin panel without touching code — even from your phone.

Configurable shipping

Rates by carrier, region, weight or order value. Free shipping above a threshold (great for raising the average order value). Tracking number sent automatically to the customer by email.

Complete customer area

Sign-up, login, order history, shipment tracking, address management and wishlist. Customers feel at home in your shop — and come back. The customer area reduces support emails and increases loyalty.

Mobile-first performance

Over 65% of online purchases happen on smartphones. Every element — images, layout, touch targets, speed — is optimised for mobile before desktop. Lighthouse 90+ guaranteed.

E-commerce SEO

Product schema markup (price, availability, reviews in Google results), canonical URLs, structured breadcrumbs, XML sitemap for the catalogue. Your shop gets found when people search for what you sell.

Transactional and recovery emails

Order confirmation, shipping notice, automatic invoice. But also abandoned-cart recovery emails — sent automatically to those who left without buying. On average they recover 5–15% of lost carts.

What you get in every online store.

// THE 5 MOST COMMON CONVERSION KILLERS — AND HOW I FIX THEM

  • 01Slow mobile siteWebP images, optimised code, CDN, no render-blocking scripts. Load time under 2s guaranteed.
  • 02Checkout too long2–3 steps max, guest checkout, address autofill, no forced registration.
  • 03Late shipping costsCosts visible right on the product page. Zero surprises at the last step.
  • 04Lack of visual trustSecurity badges, product reviews, a clear returns policy, payment logos always visible.
  • 05Poor product photosMulti-angle gallery, zoom, product video when available. If they can't touch it, they must be able to see everything.

E-commerce for every kind of sale

If you sell something, you can sell it online.

E-commerce isn't just for big brands. It works for artisans, creatives, professionals and small businesses — sometimes better than for the giants, because authenticity sells.

WooCommerce or Shopify: which to choose

Shopify, WooCommerce or custom: when to use what.

There's no universally best platform — there's the right one for your case. Here's how I choose, case by case.

HOSTED · MANAGED

Shopify

The best choice for those who want operational simplicity. Hosting included, automatic updates, clear fees. Ideal for fashion, beauty and physical products with a medium-to-large catalogue.

  • Zero servers to manage
  • Extensive app store
  • Excellent on mobile
  • 0.5–2% fee per order
WORDPRESS · SELF-HOSTED

WooCommerce

Maximum flexibility with no transaction fees. Perfect if you want an integrated site + shop, a robust blog or custom features. Requires dedicated hosting and more maintenance.

  • Zero fees per order
  • Total flexibility
  • Powerful built-in blog
  • Updates to manage
NEXT.JS + STRIPE

Headless custom

For very specific needs: extreme speed, unique features, complex integrations or multi-channel architectures. Performance impossible to reach with off-the-shelf platforms.

  • Maximum performance
  • No functional limits
  • Any integration
  • Higher budget and timelines

The platform is chosen after understanding your catalogue, budget, required integrations and your team's skills. I never choose before talking to you — that would be wrong.

How I build an online shop

How an e-commerce that works is born.

BRIEF · 1–2 days

Catalogue and market analysis

How many products, which variants, who the target is, who the competitors are. I analyse the current funnel if there is one, or we design it from scratch. I define the best platform for your case before writing a single line.

UX DESIGN · 1–2 wks

Architecture and purchase journey

Flow first — homepage → category → product → cart → checkout — then aesthetics. Every step is designed to reduce friction and guide towards the purchase. I show you the wireframe before building.

DEVELOPMENT · 2–6 wks

Build, payments, integrations

Frontend development, platform setup, payment gateway integration, shipping, transactional emails, SEO. You can see the shop on staging while we build it.

TEST & LAUNCH · 3–5 days

Real tests and go-live

Test orders, real payments with refunds, tests on every device. Then launch with Google Search Console, Analytics and Tag Manager set up. The first month of support is included.

E-commerce examples

E-commerce FAQ

The questions everyone asks.

Shopify is a managed platform: hosting is included and updates are automatic, but you pay a monthly fee (from €29 to €299) plus a commission on orders if you don't use Shopify Payments. WooCommerce is a WordPress plugin: separate hosting, maximum flexibility, zero transaction fees. I choose with you based on the catalogue, operating budget and your team's skills. Usually: Shopify for simplicity, WooCommerce for flexibility.

The most common payment gateway is Stripe, which in Europe charges about 1.5% + €0.25 per transaction with a European card, and 2.5% + €0.25 for non-EU cards. PayPal has similar rates. You bear these costs as the seller — I don't pay them. What I do is set up all the payment methods you need, making sure the process is secure, PCI-compliant and optimised to reduce payment failures.

Yes, completely. The Shopify and WooCommerce admin panels are designed to be used without technical skills. You can add products, manage stock, process orders, print shipping labels and read sales reports on your own. After delivery I give you a 1–2 hour training session on everything you need to know, recorded so you can watch it again. You can always call me with questions in the first month.

Absolutely. I set up shipping rates by region (Italy, EU, non-EU), automatic currency geolocation if needed, and VAT handling for intra-EU B2C sales (OSS). If you want a multilingual e-commerce (Italian + English + other languages) it's an add-on that includes template translation and integration with a professional translation plugin. Foreign markets can become your main growth channel.

There are specific solutions to sync stock between a physical store and the online shop. With Shopify POS you can manage both from a single panel. With WooCommerce we integrate management software or a point-of-sale system. During the brief I understand your situation and choose the most suitable approach. There's no universal solution, but every scenario has a clear technical answer.

Technical SEO is included by default: product schema markup (showing price and availability right in Google results), structured breadcrumbs, canonical URLs for variants, an XML catalogue sitemap and optimised speed. This puts your shop in ideal conditions to be indexed. To climb on specific product keywords there's the dedicated SEO service, which starts from solid foundations.

E-commerce development in Umbria and across Italy

From Perugia, online shops wherever you sell.

I'm based in Perugia but build e-commerce sites for businesses and professionals across Umbria: Perugia, Terni, Foligno, Spoleto, Assisi, Gubbio, Città di Castello, Umbertide, Orvieto, Narni, Amelia, Bastia Umbra, Corciano, Marsciano, Deruta, Castiglione del Lago, Norcia and every other town in the region.

90% of the work happens remotely — which means I work with clients all over Italy and beyond, with no geographical limits. Whether you sell Umbrian crafts, food, fashion or B2B solutions: I build online shops that convert, wherever you are.
