Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20/10/2026 · Art. 122 Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 · Italian Data Protection Authority guidelines of 10 June 2021
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in the visitor’s browser and reads again on later visits. Similar tools include the browser’s local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) and services that read information from the device.
On marcobagiacchi.it I use only technical cookies, which the site needs to work, and, only if you give your consent, the analytics cookies of Google Analytics 4. I do not use profiling or advertising cookies, and I do not embed content from other sites (videos, maps, social buttons) that could set them.
The data controller is Marco Bagiacchi (VAT no. IT03882380540), reachable at ciao@marcobagiacchi.it. Full details on how personal data is processed are in the Privacy Policy.
Your preferences
You can review or change your choice at any time, including withdrawing consent you have already given: withdrawal takes effect immediately and deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
The same panel is available from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page.
How the banner works
- A banner appears on your first visit. Until you choose, the site uses technical tools only: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are not even loaded.
- You can accept, reject or customise your choice by category. Closing the banner with the X counts as rejecting: only technical cookies stay active.
- Scrolling the page or clicking elsewhere does not count as consent, and the whole site remains available even if you reject.
- Your choice lasts 6 months. The banner only reappears earlier if the cookies used or their purposes change, or if you clear your browser cookies.
Technical cookies
They are needed for the site to work or to provide a service you asked for (for example remembering the light or dark theme). They do not require consent (art. 122(1) of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003) and are not used for any other purpose.
| Name | Provider | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
mb_consent | marcobagiacchi.it | Cookie | 6 months | Stores your cookie choices and the consent ID, so the banner does not reappear on every page. |
mb-theme · mb-sound | marcobagiacchi.it | Local storage | Until deleted | Remembers the light/dark theme and whether you turned on interface sounds. |
mb-loaded | marcobagiacchi.it | Session storage | Until the tab is closed | Shows the loading animation only on the first page of the visit. |
PHPSESSID | marcobagiacchi.it | Cookie | Session | Only in the private client area, after login: keeps the session and protects forms. |
Analytics cookies (with consent)
If you turn them on, I use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to know how many people visit the site, which pages they read, where they come from (search engines, links, social media) and what kind of device they use. The data is used only in aggregate form to improve the content.
| Name | Provider | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Cookie | 2 years | Tells visitors apart with a random identifier, to count visits. |
_ga_T3SY83CSSR | Google Analytics 4 | Cookie | 2 years | Keeps the session state (pages viewed, visit length). |
- Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Privacy Policy.
- No advertising use: Google’s advertising signals are always denied and the data is not combined with any other information I hold.
- IP address: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store the IP addresses of users in the European Union.
- Transfers outside the EU: data may be processed by Google LLC in the United States, which participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023).
- Retention in Google Analytics: up to 14 months.
- You can also block Google Analytics with the Google browser add-on.
Google Consent Mode v2
The site uses Google Consent Mode v2: before any other script it sets every consent type managed by Google to “denied” (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization). Only if you turn on analytics is the analytics_storage: granted update sent and Google’s tools loaded. The three advertising consent types always stay denied.
Consent log
To be able to prove the choice you made, as the GDPR requires (art. 7(1)), every time you choose from the banner or the panel I record on the server: a random consent identifier, date and time, the categories accepted or rejected, the button used, the version of this policy, the language and page, the shortened IP address (without its last part) and the browser type. The identifier is also saved in the mb_consent cookie and shown in the preferences panel: if you contact me about your consent, quoting it lets me find your choices. The log is kept for 24 months and then deleted automatically.
Third-party services and external links
The site’s fonts, icons and libraries are hosted directly on marcobagiacchi.it: while you browse, your browser does not contact third-party servers, apart from Google Analytics if you turned it on. Links to WhatsApp, LinkedIn, GitHub and Google reviews open external sites only when you click them: from then on, those services’ policies apply.
Managing cookies from your browser
Besides the preferences panel, you can block or delete cookies from your browser settings. If you also block technical cookies, some features (such as remembering your cookie choice) will not work.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to access your data, have it erased or object to its processing, and you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). How to do this is explained in the Privacy Policy.
